Thank you for the link it was very informative.

These are what I was told are mintmarks (by the same silver tongued gentleman that told me they were 4000 rupees each)

Coin No 2
The first looked like test cuts to me:

They look quite acceptable Shroff marks and perfectly contemporary with the coins.
(just not official mint marks!)
