I don't have the coin yet, so I am just going off of the pictures used by the seller. I can't see the overdate in the pictures, but the date placement is right and the letter placement on the reverse is right for a B-1. I'm stumped. We'll see how the date looks when I actually get the coin.

By the way, how do you think it grades, with and without the damage? Also, how much do you think it is worth? Did I get a good deal?

Here is the link to the auction:

Here are the pictures:

Well, they would be here if I was able to reduce the size of them. I use the image optimizer, get the file under 100MB, and download it, but when I try to upload it, I get an error message saying that the file is over 100 MB.

Coin grades VF-Details. I don't NET grade coins because I do not condone the practice so I can't help you there.

I came across this site for Capped Bust coinage varieties. It has images and descriptions. It is the Russ Logan collection.

http://rob.com/russ/collection/

It has the varieties of the 1818 quarters listed there.

Edit: In February, I found one for identifying varieties of Capped Bust Half Dimes http://www.everythinghalfdimes.com/

Yes it is B-1, the reverse doesn't match any of the other varieties.
