That my friend, is called a Cud, and on a Seated Liberty Half, especially one in this condition, is a very valuable error.

It's a WB-102 Small Date, Cud over TAT

I'd say it is easily XF/AU condition. I am unsure if it has been cleaned or not.

I would say that detail wise...it is definitely AU-55 or higher. Details are great. However, I don't see enough mint luster to support that grade, though it could just be the photos. It does kind of indicate a cleaning.....but these factors would be "illuminated" with photos taken with a better light source(pun intended). As it sits, I agree with Joseph at AU-53.

AU-Details, cleaned. Has a few small gouges too. Although it has some minor defects it is still a nice coin!

The lump is a Cud. As for the grade I would say Au details with an old cleaning.
