Just found a deal I couldn't pass up. I picked up a $50 bag of copper Canadian cents! I found one good 1985 error. How rare is this? What other goodies do I need to look for. I got $49.99 in cents to go through! Thanks for the help!! Edited by HoosierDaddy 04/11/2014 5:44 pm

I've been regularly auctioning off 1985 pointed 5s over the past few weeks. They sell close to book or better at the moment.

It's not an error, it's a variety. Won't get much bid action from Canadians, the shipping via ebay's extorsionist, and totally unneccessary, Global Shipping Program is eating up most of the value. There is no duty on coins, items of this value flow freely across the border with no extra charges.

Got 1 bidder from Canada. Also 2 watchers. I know the shipping is crazy. I sent a small 2 oz. last mont to Canada and it cost me $7.65. CRAZY!

Just place the cent between 2 thin cardboard pieces with a piece of clear tape to keep it in place ...and a simple (envelope like) stamp.
All single cent shipping in a plain small envelope should be ~$1.75 at the most...IMHO

When I was on the phone with ASYN... (I sent something back) he told me I had shipped the coin wrong...
I should always ship the coin in a brown envelope (apparently it gets sorted different than standard letters) so it doesn't jam up the machine or cause damage...
Also when shipping notes or coins I generally will use a post it note over the cardboard at the edge first before putting on any tape.. that way there's no way the adhesive from the tape can touch/damage the coin or note...
Just my two bits!

$9.10 + $2.37 shipping...and she(Canadian) had a New York mailing address.
Not bad for a penny.
