Weird 1964-P Dot After Date And Excess Rim?

OcalaFlorida Pillar of the Community United States 2824 Posts	Posted 04/16/2014 2:50 pm Does not look like anything for a premium but I just wondering what happened to do that? 1964-P after the date that blob shape is raised in hand it looks like a dot after the date. the reverse has two raised areas on rim also. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 04/16/2014 3:04 pm The stuff next to the rim is grease. Take a toothpick to it. It comes off. The Cincinnati Rolls have this problem on all of the ones I got off ebay. A closer shot in that area after the date might help a lot more after you removed the grease from the rim. Collector-Corner Pillar of the Community 872 Posts	Posted 04/16/2014 7:36 pm I went to Walmart and got a few yards of Microfleece (softer than microfiber) and cut sections out about the size of a playing card. I use those to clean off the grease on the coins. Most of it will come right off. The only pesky area would be mint marks, but with a little more elbow grease (no pun intended) it eventually comes out. I think I see a raised area on the rim, on the reverse, in between the "O" and "N" in ONE ? It looks rectangular in shape. Could be a small Cud. On the obverse, if that's not grease by "We Trust", then it could be some peeling / lamination. Report this Post to the Staff
OcalaFlorida Pillar of the Community United States 2824 Posts	Posted 04/16/2014 9:29 pm yes that's a tiny Cud on the rim and it was grease there is a die chip or bump above the right side of the date in between the 4 and the rim. The grease looked like excess metal but that didnt make sense, used a plastic toothpick to get it off. Report this Post to the Staff
