Hey cruisin quick question do you know why some older pennies have a dark red color to them? Totally different from color of other ones in the same year?

Storage conditions, I reckon!
I'm not an expert on toning, but I'm sure the temperature and humidity of a storage place can determine color.
Copper reacts to a few things. When in circulation, they're probably exposed to those reactants and change color.
