Hi Dave. Well, it was $308 shipped, but I usually factor in the 2% ebay bucks into the deal.

Can you guys give me some inputs on your value estimates? I realize that there are certified auction results....but after taking into account all of these minor issues, I'm not really sure what a reasonable value is. This is far from my area of expertise, as I have only owned several draped bust cents. I intend to sell it eventually, as this is a filler for my type set right now until I can find/afford an AU, or very high end XF.

I'd say VF-20 Details. You did really well for $300.

Like the new pics. Looking at this again I bump it from my original F15 to VF20. Nice pickup

Since you are interested in knowing the value of this nice cent - I asked myself the question how much would I pay? (and I collect large cents).

My answer was in the $ 350-500 (max) range. It is a nice coin, with some problems admittedly - but they are not that serious imho. The main reason I did not go higher is that S-174 is a R-2 coin, that is, not very scarce, and that is an important factor in the pricing of early copper.
