Hello all... This is a 1945 San Fran mm. Could the damage done to it be from the mint? If not, how did it end up like that? Also I was wondering about the mm; it looks like it might be a RPM? Thanks!

No way that happened at the Mint. They couldn't get drunk enough to treat a coin like that.

My guess is this coin has seen duty as road pavement.

Looks like it spent time in a parking lot or a road before being rescued.

Yea that sounds about right... I know I'm not that lucky. On that note can you tell me about these 3? I see a few things myself but just wanna know what the pros say.

Sorry about all the pics.. this is the last one for now :) A 36' but on the reverse, there looks like there's the number 8 in the blade of the axe. Thanks for the help!

Had to take the macro feature off to fix resolution. Hopefully the 8 in the blade of the axe can be seen now...

Some closer pics would help but I do not see anything that is not normal.

I'll try to get some clearer pics up. In the last one if you look at the axe blade, you can make it out. It's on the blade, top left side, looks like an 8.

Most of the pics are clear, when I use the optimizer they get blurry. I need a better camera.

Lots of gunk on that one, but I think I see what you're pointing out. Most likely PMD. (Post Mint Damage)

I don't see anything special about any of the coins, just damage on some.
