@Leo S

Where have the coins been? I always think about that. Especially when they were minted in the late 1800's. I think at one time this was in someones pocket while riding a horse or buggy! It's definitely very cool to think about.

Now there's a cool plot for a movie. Show someone getting change from a store and they go home later and empty their pockets and they notice one of the coins looks odd. "Hey, its a Shield nickel, I wonder how I got that", flashback, to 9 year old buying something at the store where this guy got the change. Rewind, grandpa placing coin in drawer 30 years earlier, flashback, flashback.

Instead of Disney's Toy Story. They need to come out with A Coin's Story!

Because they are there. 1903 nickel found in my last box of nickels. they will be here a long time more. Bills should be given to bears n the woods, as we all know what a bear does int he woods.

you know....that would be a good movie.
to make it marketable, a war scene, lots of stuff getting blown up..and a bank robbery with chase scenes

I coin roll hunt, because it is a fun thing to do on your spare time. I realized I was hooked after the first time. My main goal is to try and get every Wheat cent date and mint mark for my personal collection.

I compare it to fishing. You never know the extent of the quantity, quality, or diversity you will find, until you try. The thrill of the hunt, the good coins at face value.

I've shouted aloud on many occasion finding something small. It doesn't have to be anything big, just a find really. Over time, we come to learn that we will find some decent stuff. Its just a matter of patience.

One of my highlights was the simple time that I ripped open a dime roll as a normally do, to see 2 silver edges. I gasped. First time for 2 silvers in a roll, lol. And of course its fun to nerd out with spreadsheets and whatnot to track things. Who doesn't like to obsess over things here?

So many paperclips left to unfold... ;-)

Tree stand to just watch? or harvest?

No tree stands where I'm at but I feel the same about patterning turkey

And the coin hunting is more about the hunt / some kind of wierd relaxation it provides than anything
