I didn't know about this forum otherwise I would have showed you back then. Tell me what you think about them. Never found either one again.

Is you weigh the coin planchet on the left, that would tell you if it was a type 1 (copper) or type 2 (zincoln). And the 1982 on the right, maybe was plated with something

Someone told me that the 1982 was pure zinc. I don't know what to believe.

Its possible, but I would doubt it. Zincolns used in 1982 were a zinc core with a copper shell. 2.5 grams is the standard weight for Zincolns.

Either way I was shocked and excited when I found it. I'll weigh it when I get a chance later.

Here is another cool coin I found. I actually have 3 of these. Tell me if you have ever found one of these or know anything about it. I kept dropping it because it sounded funny. Finally it broke open.

those are called Magician's coins. Hollowed to either put another coin or note inside. Might have been for a spy to carry secrets, but most commonly a Magician's coin.

many of the 'hollow coins' I have found had normal reverses, but rotated. I think they are counterfeit rotated die coins. I was really excited after finding one, but alas, all was not right.

Yeah, I found a Bi-Centennial Half with the eagle in the back. At first I thought it was an error! nope.
