This coin is starting to grow on me a bit so I just ordered the gift set from Canada Post...I think it's the same but has no RCM clamshell. I'm not sure if a COA comes with this coin ?

CP did well...nice set.
So the coin becomes to "raise".

Ha - ha .... Just looked the the coin on ebay, and suddenly my son told "I would like to have it" I ordered it from CP, with the card, free shipping. Wish, it will be like 1-st GITD, when I also got it for the kid.

Quote: no COA in CP pack Is the package serialized? (.i.e. has a number on it) I'd be very surprised if they are not numbered in some way - all other CP/Mint combined presentations that I can think of have had COA from the mint and number packaging from CP. I don't see the appeal or predict any significant appreciate in the secondary market. Also don't find the image very 'haunting'. But, I hope for you guys buying that I'm wrong.

This weird stuff (only worth to be given on Halloween to the kids as a gift)- single coin currently - sold out at all major dealers, at least on-line, the single one that I found for issue price - on ebay by angus_coin_shop .... and I understand, why people do not jump on his items. Added: But luck of the Serial Number (if this is true) on the CP package, makes somehow single coin package edition to be limited.

But it's not sold out. It's available at Canada Post albeit in different packaging. These coin/stamp issues are typically heavily allocated to Canada Post. Others that I know of with 15k mintages were 10k to CP and 5k to the Mint (and every other dealer). You could say the Mint and dealers have low stock but in all likelihood, CP as plenty of them. In most cases in the past, CP have ended up with surplus stock and/or people find the coins at postal outlets for a long time after some people, especially ebay sellers, claim it is sold out.

You right, CC-Ottawa, but here the situation is bit different:
the single coin has COA, and similar to "Special Penny Roll with S/N" , the coin with COA will be rare.

This will be more similar to the Titanic coin. 5000 were available as singles and the rest came in the $200 set. Thought the sets at Canada Post for this one are a lot lower.
I think it will do really good, a lot of younger people (gifts for younger people) and new collector will hop on it...

Not like the titanic because the CP set was $150 and included two coins plus in a premium package. The sets were also numbered. I liken this new coin more to the 2013 60th anniversary of coronation coin/stamp set which sold out from RCM and dealers quickly but a year later is still available from CP. 5k in clamshells, 10k from CP. The CP sets are numbered (the packaging is the COA). As I said, I'd be very surprised if the CP packaging for the haunted coins are not numbered. Do you really think a coin aimed at kids, is going to be 'rare' because it has paper COA? The only thing that might help this coin is the series angle but my advice (take it or not) is buy the coin, not the hype. BTW, this coin is pretty scary too. http://www.canadapost.ca/shop/p-244103.jsfedit to add: another example would be the 2014 Blessing of Good Fortune 50 cent. I don't see significant premiums for either the RCM or CP versions despite packaging differences.
