Hello all- I recently opened a new ebay account after I turned 18, but with this new account I lost all of my sales records on my mother's old account. Now, when I sell an item via a standard letter (without tracking), I have to wait 3 whole weeks for ebay to process my payment, even after my buyers leave positive feedback. I understand how this policy is supposed to increase confidence in buyers buying from new sellers, but it really stinks for the sellers who have to wait so long to get paid while simultaneously offering competitive shipping costs. Especially for individuals like me who have previously worked hard and earned 100% seller ratings on old accounts. I've contacted ebay customer service to try to iron this out, but the Indian man on the line didn't understand my question and 'redirected' me, where I sat on hold for over an hour (where I impatiently hung up.) Does anyone have a solution for my woes? Thanks!

There isn't a solution really. There's no point in spending hours arguing with ebay over it. I started selling a month back and after 4 successful sales I'm still waiting 21 days for payment even after my buyers leave positive feedback. The only possible answer to your woes would be to keep using your mother's account.

I would sell off of both accounts until you build up your other one.

Yep...sell 50/50 'till you get the new account up to speed. You cannot argue with ebay. They have their quirky reasons for doing things. Sorta like fighting with city hall.

There is, but at the end of the day it is her account and not mine.

Okay, but if she was uninterested, then you could switch your name and information to hers? I know you can't do this with paypal, I didn't know about ebay though.

Just add the price of tracking and postage to your starting bid and list as free shipping. Gets ebay off your back and the buyers love the word free.

I started receving my payment immediatly after 60 days and like 5 sales without any problem in the transactions. If you read the FAQ, it's indicated there. Calling ebay it's wasting your time (and finally, the money is released by Paypal, not ebay).
