Looks to me as an MS 63 coin. the bag mark by the ear should not details the coin but it is really not worth sending into a TPG. Enjoy Ben in all his glory as he is.

Thanks muddler, I wasn't planning on getting it slabbed, just curious. What does everyone else think?

That is a lovely coin, I think MS-63 too, although without the spots one the reverse it may even be a 64 in my opinion.

Bag mark is a bummer, but beautiful ben... well worth $15 in my opinion.
I agree with 63.

You might try some acetone to get the haze off of the reverse.

Quote: Where do you get all these nice Franklins from? I get them at my LCS. They have a complete BU Franklin album I can pick from. Like I said, all dates, some are blast white, others are spectacularly toned, some are in between. Great prices there too! So far I have spent $60 on Franklin half dollars there, everything I've bought Redbooks conservatively at around $100 total, so 40% off.
