No, I don't think it is a Cud as it retains the rim. It's worn, but it's there.
More like a planchet flaw.

Matteproof, I don't even think it's a planchet flaw. It looks like some simple grime to me. I think some acetone would take it right off.

Hmm, really? I think I am seeing something incuse--a crack on the planchet. Could just be the lighting though.

Well it was neither a Cud nor is it crud. Appears to be a bit of a lamination error. Cleaned with acetone:

Removing the gunk really brought out the sharpness of the line, definitely a lamination.
