I got this coin in a pretty sweet deal. And I want to sell it to buy a metal detector. I am mostly interested in collecting American coins...

Anyways, there is only one coin and collectible store here and I can't stand the guy. I took the coin to him just to see how much he would give me and he was an Ass(can I say that?) as I expected him to be. I took it to a pawn shop just to satisfy curiosity of how much they would give me for it and they wanted to do a scratch test on it (Ummm...Hell no!). So now I'm considering ebay.

I am sure I will be able to sell it on ebay, but the final fess are holding me back.

I don't think I have anywhere near enough posts on the forum to be able to sell anything here unfortunately... anyone got any ideas?

Well on ebay you looking at getting 600-700 based on previous sales which is pretty much just bullion value. Nice coin tho one day I hope to buy one.

I agree, It will sell just above bullion as do most modern Canadian gold coins at the moment.

That $20.00 gold coin is part of the 1967 centennial
presentation set containing 1 cent to $1.00 specimen coins plus gold coin in black leather presentation box.
The complete set is currently going for around $800.00 so your coin should fetch a little over $700.00

You are better off trying and buying the set with out the coin in the commemorative box, then selling it. the coin sells for about $500 but add in the set (maybe ~$30) and you could sell for $700 on a good day.

J&M is buying at US$658 this morning.
The OP should easily be able to find a buyer at the same price in the US. Might get 750-800 on ebay, but there's a risk and fees involved
