I've never really attempted grading before, but I'll give this a shot.

They look to be in the EF-AU range to me. I think I see a bit of wear on the wreath of the 1955, and the dings on with the rims of the 1951 doesn't help.

I'm going with MS60 on the 55 mainly because of the dings on the neck and would give the 51 a EF40 grade.
Thats just my opinion as I tend to grade as a buyer instead
of a seller.

1951- EF-40 too much wear over the Kings ear to be higher.

Yes I with most of the above except for the af . for the 1955 it would be a MS-60 and the 1951 would make a EF-45.

55 on the '55, and
50 on the '51.

The hair on the side of George V1 is more sharply defined on the master dies for Canadian coins, than for other Commonwealth countries. This means that the hair with the amount of definition that the '51 has suggests to me that this coin has sustained SOME wear in this area of the coin, so some sort of AU grade seems justified.
