Nice design, and as you might have guessed, the guy at the bottom is Mozart. :) What I do not like that much about the piece: This is a series covering the nine Austrian states (de: Länder), and the state of Salzburg is a little more than the city of Salzburg. The coin, however, does not really reflect that in my opinion. This is Melisa Begic's original design by the way: http://www.meinemuenze.at/sites/def...1B%20(2).jpg The silver coins from that series are surcharged; there is also a copper version that can be had at face.

The design is funky, next to mozart you have the traditional austrian dirdndl for the ladys and the leather-pants for the male, interestingly its also a traditional clothing of bavaria, I have found that the bavarian dialect has close resemblance to the Austrian.

What doesn't really fit is the bass or is it a guitar....

An accordion would have been much more appropriate, austrians used and still do like to play it up on the mountain hut after some nice cold beer :)

The instrument is a violin. Think Mozart, not that other Sound of Music. ;)

Very nice! The Austrian Mint makes quality coins. I have two of the coins in this series, and plan on picking up this and the others I'm missing when I can find them for the right price!
