I was thinking maybe AU, but I'm certainly not the expert at grading so I thought your opinions may be more accurate. If you need better pics, just ask, it looks like in the preview that I could reduce the size and get a higher quality image.

I think you've got it right, but it's apparent lack of luster has me wondering if it's been cleaned. I'll say AU53 with a possible "details" annotation.

It might just be the lighting, but when I first saw the pics I thought "cleaned". AU-55 possible details.

I can see what you mean wheatchaser. The coin doesn't look cleaned in person, but it does a little bit in the picture. Thanks for the input guys.

If you have a smartphone, you should try PCGS's app Photograde. Great reference for grading any coin.

I might be missing something here but I think it is around MS 63 (according to TPG standards). Anyone care to inform me what I am missing here?

Based on the better photos now posted, I can see just a hint of wear to the hair above the ears and the top of the cap, as well as minimally on the eagle's breast. I still don't like the look of the surfaces, and the apparent lack of any marks. I'll come up to AU58, but I still think it'd go "details" if submitted for certification.
