it does look close to 2014,, but not the same. I am in tho for one and the colored and gilded one.
Still waiting for a crash in silver, well not a crash but wanting lower to buy a kilo of elephant, I think its gotta look just so magnificent you know?
out of all the world silver bullion, these somalia elephant are the ONLY ones I buy for my collection, I gave up on just about everything else. Way too common for me.

@Fusion555 I think their ebay listing might be better, as I think I saw them selling them with free shipping included.

I bought a couple from CA. They have them for $27.23 CAD and you can pay with a credit card with no extra fees and they have free shipping in Canada with orders over $200. Cant beat that!

CA has them listed as out of stock. That didn't take long.

Quite a weak "redesign" for what is essentially an overpriced art round. You will never be able to cash these in, and you wouldn't invest in Somali shillings anyway.

Quote: You will never be able to cash these in, and you wouldn't invest in Somali shillings anyway. Does anyone really expect to cash in bullion for their face value, no matter where it's from? (Like spending an ASE for $1.) I think the elephant and all bullion coins may be just glorified art rounds, in a way, but they are still nice looking and the market for them supports the premium.

The premium you pay on silver is directly linked to the security of the government backing. Look at the rounds that sell for a premium, Eagles, Maples, and Britannias, all having high face value backing, relatively speaking.
So it has less to do with the actual face value, but the perception of value that this creates.
