57 Wheat Error

noticed that the wheat on the right doesn't line up on the outside of it. has a little metal extending to the rim. Then I noticed what seems to be a crack across the middle. Can anyone shed some light on what's going on. other side seems normal.

Looks like there is a die chip in that area. The die is breaking down and showing its age.
