no hoarding at all on those.

I think that should be 7 people per coin.

Better be some really tiny people...

Forget 2009. I still think the real sleepers are the ATB Quarters from the first half of 2012: El Yunque, Chaco Culture, and Acadia. Real low mintages for quarters (<25 million each from each mint) and not as much hoarding so the uncirculated ones may eventually spike.

I backed up the truck on the first three 2012 Quarter designs. I've also saved every one of them I've found in circulation (over a roll of Acadia-D's alone just from circulation, which are quite likely to stay the lowest mintage design-mintmark variety of the ATB series at 21,606,000.)

I found hundreds of 2009-D LP-3 Cents in circulation (the Denver area was awash in LP3's when they were released), dozens each of the other 2009 Cent designs, several 2009-D Nickels, but no 2009-D Dime has ever found its way to my change yet.

iontyre from my area I truly agree with you about the status of the ATB Quarters. I have been working on a collection of these darlings for quite awhile now and am sad to report that there are some coins that I am totally lacking in from either mint. In fact this lack of coins extends to more than two or three coins. This is one set that I am not going to be purchasing any coin for. Its either has to come from my pocket or through coin roll searching.

Due to this post I asked my neighbor about the coins he normally puts in a jar. Turned out he only collects dimes and has been for years. I asked him if he wanted to sell them and he said sure, and they were already counted as $63 worth. I sat down at home and went through all of them. Really shocked me that not one 2009 Dime in the mess. Next I think I'll ask for some rolls at my bank and go through them looking for 2009 Dimes. Must be some out there.

Thanks for the info about the 2009 dimes and nickles and the 2012 ATB Quarters. I think they did a nice job on most of the parks. But where I am on the West Coast the P mints are hard to get.
I did find a 1914 P Zincoln yesterday, lots of D`s

I have only seen 4 or 5 2009 any denomination at all in my pocket change.
But I have 1 of each for my albums via mint sets so I'm ok with that.

So Later on down the road the market will become flush with UNC 2009 US coins from all denominations and it will be the circulated ones that will be hard to find.

Kind of makes me wonder which one will be worth more.

I think I will start carrying around a couple just to turn them into low balls.

as far as modern coins go I never buy them, I always fill my albums with what I find in change. What's really weird is that I have almost a complete set of the State Quarters, taken solely from change... EXCEPT I have not been able to find the Denver issues for Alabama (2003), Utah (2007), Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Hawaii (2008).

I come across all of the above regularly, except for Alabama, my problem is always the Philly coins. I have five state coin sets going and the last one, the wall hanger, is missing Alabama.

I coin roll hunt and am in the west. I may be able to help you with those quarters once I have enough time and posts in to trade.

There's a good chance he's found them by now, Bmar's post was almost 2 years ago, and he hasn't been here since March 2018.
