Reminds me when, about 25 years ago, I saw a coin ad for "the soon-to-be discontinued Roosevelt dimes." I hadn't heard anything about the design being discontinued, so I called the company. I asked the guy about it, and he admitted that the design was not going to be discontinued. But then he added, "Let me tell you something, my friend. It's been minted for so long that chances are good it will be discontinued pretty soon."

Anytime a stranger calls you "my friend," you know he's up to no good.

There is no question that this is false advertisement (bait & switch masters), and I'm pretty sure that the Bradford Exchange found a way to sleep good at night a long, long time ago. It always goes back to education.

"It is just marketing to the unwise. "

Well said. Nothing to be done except to teach
those who come to the CCF site.

I for one don't like blaming victims. No they don't deserve to be taken to the cleaners just because they assume a store would not be so misleading in it's marketing.

Sorry, seen far too much dumb in my life to have sympathy for those who are. They are not "victims". The term victim can be used for people who are raped, or beaten or murdered but it is a little overboard to call someone too dumb to research how they spend their money a victim. I just call them dumb.
