When I started the thread on my 1916-d Mercury the other night, I noticed that links to my photos appeared rather than the photos themselves. How does one get the actual images to appear in posts, as I've seen many times in the short time I've been a member. I decided to put the 16-d aside for the time being and tried some photos of one of my $20 St Gaudens double eagles. I was actually pleased with the results and attempted to post the image, but could not resize it to the minimum without reducing the quality. I'd appreciate and tips on this as well.

dglavin, couple of things.

1. Follow the posting uploading images guidelines, and it should work for you. Bottom line, get the size correct(I'll cover that next), and save it to your desktop. Then, insert image file, browse to the desktop and select it. It will now show in your post like an entire address per say.

Remove everything before http, and everything after .jpg. After deleting these items, highlight what's left and select "insert image" icon right above "color" and two to the left of the "quote" icon.

2. Once you hit 50 posts you can request your own gallery. This will allow you to load substantially larger files. Until then, you need to crop everything out of the image that is not the image itself, and unfortunately resize and sometimes lower image quality. If you can get the pixels down to about 500X500 you can keep the quality pretty high.

Hope this helps.

Does that look like a broken image to everyone else? My computer has been wigging out and most of the images look broken until I refresh the page...this one does not seem to be affected by refresh though.

An extra bracket appears at the end of the post but does not appear when I go to edit it. Is that part of the problem or an I still doing something else wrong?

Arthrene, click on that link you posted before. Then right click on the picture. You will see properties listed at the bottom. Click on the properties and you will see the URL for the picture. Copy and paste this between the img tags.

Hopefully that should work.
