Was waiting for this one and ordered from the rep e-mail an hour ago. Expect it will have the 100th anny logo on it.

I also got the notice, a Mintage of 7,500 is still a bit high unless it's an outstanding design. It will be interesting to see at any rate.

Yes, with the mintage like this and all theory of the "Cliff", the coin doubtfully will be apreciated in the long term. But will be some hype this period.
What I think, without seeing the design, that it will be bold and sharp. Like "The Shield" in the Superman series. IMO, that exactly what recent hockey coins missed. Looks like nice coin will be.

According to rep, RCM has only 1,500. Commissioned product.

I ordered this from my rep too. I think it will be a good representative "Canadian" coin, which I will keep and enjoy in my collection whether it goes up or down in value.

I ordered it as well, I was a little leary because of the hockey coins they put out before, I did not like them. I am also trying to wean myself off the NCLT teet. once I see the design I will decide if I will keep it or not.

Just put my order in as well from Rep. Also at local coin shop and through post office.
I think they will make great X-Mas gifts...If I get them all

I agree it's hard to ween off buying Nclt, especially if nice design. I'm still trying to decide on star charts, have seen all designs on coin show, very nice. The issue is where and when to buy for best price. I'm horribly addicted, I've 3 collecting areas that compete for funds. My circulation, Nclt and semi numismatic bullion. It's crazy.

I won't be surprised if Hockey Canada distribute many of these 7500 coins directly either for sale or more likely as gifts and that may hurt the resale value of the coin. That said, this year's World Juniors are taking place in Toronto and Montreal so there will be a large audience for the annual post Christmas tournament. Over half a million kids are registered with HC and while they are not all coin collectors, that is a pretty good potential customer base for those concerned with resale. Plus I think the coin will fit well with other HC stuff I already have.

My guess, that the rest of the coins will be part of the set that will be distributed by CP / Hockey Canada.
again, it just a guess...
