Need help verifying the dot, hard to find good pics. Also wondering what grade as I'm new to grading.

Looks like the dot. You'll need bigger pictures in the grading section for opinions.

i agree with the dot and grade but I think its sadly also deserving a scratch and gouge designation, sorry.

Please be aware that a high percentage of Nickels are "naturally" scratched because of what they were used for:
Mechanical parking meters! you turn the handle, you move the coin, you get Parking!
the coin is a dot, but not better than VG 8, max 10.
As for your grading experience?
that exactly is what it is all about: experience

Nice dot coin! Other indicators of a 5c 1947 dot are
1) light dot between A & D of CANADA
2) light dot underneath N of CENTS

I can see both of the other dots, so I'd say it is genuine.

Good job scissel!! One of the few who knows that the variety is really 3 dots. Most have exactly what you described.

Dot 15-20 dollars depending on who actually wants to pay that though! VG-8 or F-12
