That'll be one thing I'll try for sure artdio. But later. I have to get $210 of educational and entertainment value out of this coin somehow.

Have you thought about writing an article for the CN Journal on this enigma?

Yes, send it to ICCS, have it corrected and they should reimburse you if you paid too much. Do this for the hobby.

SPP, I detect a note of sarcasm. There is no mystery here, rather the story of the MAS that dominates this hobby in Canada and its apathy and indifference to collectors. Four of the nine 1871H OBV1's are OBV2's, the other five almost certainly are as well. Yet given this coins rarity no dealer, auctioneer, or cataloguer has ever bothered to examine one of these. You know full well that this story does not belong in The Journal and the reasons why.

No sarcasm was intended. I was serious... I was too succinct perhaps, because I envisioned a proper article on the different obverse markers, and how current examples certified to date, are, in fact, incorrectly attributed. If you stick to the facts, nobody will be offended.

The emperor's new 1871H Obv 1, huh?

When a prediction that all are misattributed is put out there, the immediate question is: Does 1871H Obv 1 exist?

We are collecting a lot of "NONE EXIST" lines in Charlton and Trends.
