Question: Does a normal, modern 5 dollar bill that is a star note have any premium value?

Chriscoinz,
If you start a new topic with photos of the bill in question we'll be able to help you out there.

Here are some scans of National Bank Note proofs which reside in the Smithsonian. I paid a gentleman for getting these for me. I have other banks but don't have them uploaded or formatted.

Those are great scans of those proofs, meadowviewcollector. My favorite is that lazy duece. I had to look twice when I saw Paris on it though.

Thanks again to everyone who posted! I've enjoyed watching this thread develop over the last several weeks, and I very much appreciate all those who took the time to contribute.
Sure, anyone can "buy the book" and see beautiful images of unattainable notes that exist ... but I love to see real-world collectors displaying notes that they actually own and cherish.
Does anyone have any suggestions for future "Days of" paper money threads?

CCF member Jay Kristofferson just posted some unique notes on a separate thread, and I thought they deserved to be referenced here: https://goccf.com/t/190436

Thought I would just cover a number of categories at one time. Here is a fractional, obsolete, error, scrip, and other note!

I like it! However, like you, I do worry that there would be quite a few empty days. Perhaps a version that divides states into categories by region would make it doable?
