It seems the 50c coins I have been getting in my change lately are the commemorative ones, for example today I got a 1998 commemorating the discovery of the bass strait and a 2001 with the a different emblem to the norm.

In 2001, Australia produced and circulated 10 different 50c coins as part of the centenary of Federation celebrations. I've still not seen the ACT, South Australia or Tasmania coins in circulation.

Found a 1957-D quarter in a roll today, and a couple common date wheaties.

Went into my bank on business today, and asked the teller if she had any half dollars. She said the safe was locked for the day, but she did have about 30 she would let me have.

Of those 30, eight had silver content, and another 10 were the Bicentennial. Of course I'll put the Bicentennial back into circulation, but am happy to get a few with silver.

I went to Bank of America to deposit a paycheck and asked the teller if she had any old 2's. She pulled out a crisp gorgeous 1928 and said that someone just deposited it.

The next week I asked another merchant teller if she had any * notes and she said "I knew this was going to happen!" 3 weeks before a man came into the bank and had a stack of 1,2,5,10 and 20's from the early 1900's, each denomination was consecuitive and all * notes! [:0]. She hid them in her till hoping SOMEONE would ask for old money or star notes, but after 3 weeks she turned it all in to be destroyed. My behind is at that bank almost every day now checking in on them!

1911 Wheat cent, at least in VG!! This one might be the first '11 I've found, I've gotten most of the other dates (minus keys) from customer change, but I don't remember ever seeing an '11 before.

Got some rolls of quarters from the vault today, they're wrapped in that clear plastic (I hate opening those things! ), and one quarter definately didn't have the copper clad layer. I'm thinking, "Ooh, silver!!" I rip the roll open...it's Canadian! AARGH!! [:0]

Well, to me here's a rare find. Was in west coast of Florida, I bought a six pack of mic's, got me a pretty well beat up 2005 Buffalo nickel, from the P mint. I thought it was interesting cause when I got back to the east coast, I was buying a dirty dozen of mics, and when I went to pay, I refused to give her that nickel since it's the 1st one I have seen in circ...hehe

Got a few of the 2006-D Jefferson nickels today (coin shop) and must say I am REALLY disappointed. If they make them and flatter (low relief) there won't be an image at all! Personally I think they will have more personality once they get good and dirty! Lets face the facts, Jefferson needs to go!
