This one is much larger than the first. I originally thought that it was something on the coin so I put a drop of Verdicare on it, my first swipe loosened the peel. Thought it looked pretty cool. unholyroller Pillar of the Community United States 1903 Posts	Posted 11/13/2014 1:30 pm A question...looking at the images, more so than a lamination issue...and as I understand a lamination to be is that the original planchet had some alloy issues, this coin looks like a piece of copper trimmings fell on the face of then coin and then was smashed into it when it was minted. Wouldn't that make this a struck through and not a lamination error? Report this Post to the Staff

I believe if something was smashed into the coin you would see more of a raised surface. @jprine - If you want it to stay attached to the coin dont keep playing with it Report this Post to the Staff

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 11/13/2014 11:03 pm True sometimes debris is struck into the coin, but like yours you can see how the area under the lamination is showing a reduced area, makes it considered a lamination. If it were struck through wire/etc, it would be that shape. But they are still called laminations when they peel off. Report this Post to the Staff
