The best usage - buy discointed graded coins (that usualy comes no COA) and with the COA attached they will be more genuine. Or good example 2013 Gold Superman coin - the coin itself, imo, just painted gold coin , doesn't worth it price, but it possible to buy nice 1oz Replica - together with attached COA will be relly nice.

Quote:This is interesting purchase: a101 Group lot of Certificates of Authenticity from the Royal Canadian Mint ranging in date from approximately 2008 to 2014. Our price: $9.95 Questions: 1. Why would these be removed in the first place? 2. Never mind #1, but why would a dealer even sell them (versus destroy or return to RCM)?

Please be advised that this is me yelling. I promise from this day forward that I will never do business with colonial acres again...never. I can't imagine why a business would be so careless, stupid, or indifferent to sell these documents.
This just adds more to the problem we already have with counterfeiters. Order some cheap knockoffs from China, add an authentic COA and voila someone innocent gets burnt.
shame on you colonial acres. Liverpool

This is not that big of a deal to me. I doubt a person that would otherwise not be fooled by a Chinese knock off would buy confidently because of a COA. Besides, it is a lot easier to counterfeit a COA than it is the coin. A COA doesn't have to be produced by the coin's maker. I've seen COA's with ancient coins. You or I could produce legitimate COA's, but they are only legitimate if we pair them with items that we are fully confident are authentic. That said, a genuine COA is an important component of original packaging, and most collector's feel their set is incomplete without it. It is a component that is easily damaged or lost, and so access to an aftermarket replacement is not a bad thing. As always collectors should be careful when they buy, and realize the presence of a COA doesn't guarantee authenticity. Buy the coin and not the holder.

shame on you colonial acres. Liverpool It has positive side for collector too. Imagine if you did buy: 1). Some single coin from the set for reduced price, and for your surprise the CA has the COA. 2). You get the graded coin - for example 2015 Enameled SML from fractional set - and if you wish to display it regular way in the round capsule - the COA will be nice addition.

Anything I would say right now would not be nice so it is best that I shall remain silent on this topic going forward... Like I see so many times here. Buyer beware. Liverpool

Thanks, arianzo, for an update.
Feel sorry for people, who bought all the set for full price.
Does the same will be the destiny of "Fishing" series, or lower mintage and sub+box availability will save them from such dramatically price decrease?
