i also do not understand the point in buying stuff just because it discounted.

Tell that to my exwife.

My exwife: We have to go shopping because there is a sale on.

Me: Oh, do we need whats on sale?

My exwife" No but its on sale!

Me: But if we don't need it why buy it?

My exwife: BECAUSE ITS ON SALE! SHUT UP AND DRIVE ME TO THE MALL!

Me: Ok Dear.

Meanwhile thinking to myself, another nail in the coffin.

Few years later: FREEDOM!

If anyone is looking for the silver 2014 Woolly Mammoth coin, here is a dealer who must have bought an Overstock or has an Overstock and is selling them at BIN or has many auctions.

price is $60 USD. Not bad, but if you bid on an auction you can do even better, like highs 40s, mid 50s... which wow.. I cant believe how cheap these got

anyways, its a nice deal if you want one right away.. 20 bucks LESS than APMEX even..

OMG I knew it...

These deer coins were a huge massive bust and Silvertowne is sitting on a glut of them.

What is really bad is seeing and knowing folks have bought these coins at full price and then they get slashed 40-50% off. my god. I feel bad for everyone who bought and now could have essentially bought two coins for the price of one... ouch...

folks are going to get wise to this sort of thing and it will hurt our hobby....

<---- @Northerncoinsthat exactly. and wow, Yingyang I didnt see they dropped the price on that one either...

man I think I have seen enough, no "exclusive" dealer coins for me. No paying full price either for coins, if I cant find it at auction from a reputable seller on ebay, forget it, it will have to wait.

and now that these coins have really rocked hard, I dunno. I wanted to get that Family at Rest silver coin but seeing how hard its dumped... and the Woolly Mammoth coin also, I think either I scratch them off my list OR wait till I see that they are done sliding in price.

heck I can be patient....

Super Deal! 350 mintage , only like $300 from gold spot, crazy times.

All these deals from Silvertown makes me wonder, seems like they are liquidating stock, maybe nothing, but maybe red flags should be going up.

The reason for the sale - the commissioner stuck with stock, so they liquidate it.
Basically all the coins and majority of RCM's drop the same in value, just people not to sell them all in such amount, so we "see" that price doesn't drop, but what we do not follow, the coins, that seller asks market value - doesn't sell.

The red flag is high mintage

Flash-Sale-And-One-Day-Sales

I like this near wholesale prices, how much do they pay spot price

I'm thinking of becoming a wholesaler

Better to be a wholebuyer, this way you really can enjoy from the real-cost prices.

I can't believe the discounts like the Pond Hockey coin for $55 or the 2014 Lake Ontario coin for $59.95.

http://www.silvertowne.com/p-23745-...-in-ogp.aspx. The RCM sold it for $115.

The problem is not only high mintages but too many coins issued each month. Coupled that will low collector interest and you get a devastating result.

oh for sure,,,,

1- silver and gold prices are dropping

2- too many coins released a month

3- too many repetitions of coins

these are the main issues killing the RCM and other world government mints.

what happens I think is they will alienate their loyal customers over time. No one wants to buy a coin at full price when they can get it months, a year later for a 50-60% discount, especially when it happens over and over. By the time the RCM and other mints figure this out, it will be too late.
