Just checked the items on the Colonial Acres sale site. Some really good deals. Haven't been following all of their sales but does it seem that the discounts are bigger on more items than usual? Much less incentive for me to even consider new releases from the RCM - just wait and I can pick up what I want for 50% off. Going to a few auctions in the next month - will be interesting to see if the downward pressure on prices is apparent here as well.

This is truth.
It is looks like the dealers "undercut" each other with the sales.
Of cause, these are not new editions, the new coins will be offered for issue.

Pretty weak sale this month at CA. They had better deals during the boxing week sale.

There are deeper prices because they are really scraping the barrel. The Royal coins and the O'Canada coins have been on the blow out specials for months. They must be desperate to get rid of them.

well for those that collect the GITD series and missing the first one, CA had one for below $80. Not a bad deal

I grabbed some 1 oz Engelhard Silver Bar from CA today's blowout special.

CAD$26 is decent price for Engelhard compared to JM Bullion, APMEX and other deslers.

Its usually the same stuff month after month, or items with imperfections that cant be sold for regular prices. It depends if you can live with the imperfection. Its usually in packaging, and some want pristine packaging.

Do collectors have their favorite places to buy from. Do you shop around for who has the best deals instead. I hop around for who has the best prices.

CA and The Coin Shoppe carry the stuff that I like:
RCM, Perth/RAM , Bullion
so these dealers are default for me.

Prices....well, for the best price I will do the effort to browse in the "non-default" website.

I agree Silveroid those are my main two followed by CP and Gatewest. I stay away from the Coin Shoppe, as I would go broke. Jack brings in too many beautiful coins. It makes it tough to resist, unlike just RCM coins. His is a dangerous place. I would love to see the selection in person!! I'm lucky I don't live near there. The unboxings must be exciting for staff.

Jack has always treated me well, made a lot of adjustments for me. An around great guy.

On the Colonial Acres sale, I saw that 1/10 20th anniversary privy gold maple leaf seems in line with ebay going sales and that 2005 maple leaf with tulip privy.

I went through that list and I mean some of these coins, what was the purpose of them? Is it any surprise that one coin, what was it, "tradition of hunting" ... seals, is marked down 50% lol.. I mean really,, talk about a niche subject.

Now dont get me wrong, I understand that is the way of life for some folks, eating seal. But the vast majority of the public is not excited about seeing an cute seal being speared in the face.... I mean what was the RCM thinking?

I just dont get it....but I guess the RCM and other mints have been making some crazy money for many years with their super high mark ups on coins that cover any sort of subject.

Liked the Privy mark, but didn't buy them when they were at CAD 26 on CA.
I would agree with the member of other forum:
the SML Privy went out of proportion. Overflood.
For me they not unique/special any more.
Only on 2016 we have:
**Wolf Privy SML
**Panda Privy SML
**"Ying-Yang" privy SML
and all this stuff 50.000 mintage each..too much...

I know, that experienced re-sellers will say, that privy'still go and will go very good on the secondary market, but imo, they terminated to be "special edition"
The exception are still old ones (Zodiac, Tulip, VE) or new ones individually encapsulated with mintage 7500 and lower, but for these RCM charges CAD 80 (so they fail - the new ones on the market).
