They charged to me taxes for the Superman coins...

Hmmm may need to call them to have it taken off, I called while I was checking my coins out and got through fairly quickly well after going through the auto mated system thingy.

She told me it adds the taxes initially but at the end of the process it takes it off if it is pure silver or gold item. It worked on my order don't know why it didn't work on yours. But I think some provinces pay the PST on it regardless, not sure though.

It's because you have to support our Crown Corporations...

They told me he same but after checking out the taxes (5%) were there. 5% is Federal tax, not provincial and is the only dealer I pay taxes with.

I support crown corporations pretty well, that's why I buy in RCM, use Canada Post services, etc....

You should not be charged 5% PST regardless where you live as pure silver/gold is GST tax exempt. However you could be charged PST if you live in a province that has it.

Why do you spend time on this show? Does the person there advertise or show new coins? Or sells something with unusual discount?
**Lies about the coins
**Lies about coupons (who got the $40 discount?)

Have to say, that never saw it, but when I imagine, that it looks like the shopping channels from 90-s, where the phone number flashes and you have to "call now" in order to get something - is distract me. And for sure, coins that he touch with the hands, they return back to capsule and sell to someone....

Don't agree that there are actually misrepresentations...just that the general viewing audience is clearly not too well informed...

Lol Silveroid I see you have no love for that guy and you forgot to mention his shiny finger nails, I think they are distracting , what kinda nail polish does he use I wonder..

On a side note I was looking through some coins there and found this.

Quote:
USA $1 Sacagawea Error Coin, Missing Edge Lettering, Uncirculated TSC Price:$299.95

Ok now read this:

Quote:
In early 2009, a few new Sacagawea dollars coins were discovered which had completely missed the edge lettering process and had a plain edge. While these first few error coins sold for more than $10,000 each, some additional coins have since been found, making this interesting mint error much more accessible for collectors.

I would hate to have been the ones who paid $10k for one of these.

My 2 $40 off coupons worked in oct on coin purchases. Another member from this forum used his 20% off coupon yesterday to purchase coins. People sometimes you have to: rock the boat, call in and complain!! Sometimes need to go above customer service Reps, they don't have all answers. If there's no tax on something, fight for your discount.

Apparently there's an extra 2%off through RDF rebate and 3% off through another rebate provider.

I like watching the show to show the products under good lighting, zoomed in, and hear the latest pitch. Too me it's entertaining whether or not, I buy a coin. It's good fun and I know better than buy something that's over issue!! The fingers don't bother me, it's on the rim. After reading on different forum, many collectors use bare hands to hold a coin. Many say they've a better grip than using gloves.

Great News; I was just speaking with my Rep at CC&C, I'm doing monthly payments on some coins.
I mentioned the issue of; Quebec people getting charged taxes on 99.99 silver coins. I said people on coin forums are not happy, saying " the coin show is the only dealer, charging taxes for Quebec residents" my gal said she will talk to their shopping channel rep, and let them know. I mentioned it's also stated on forums people will not buy from the coin show again. I forgot to mention about the coupons not being valid once Bromberg said they would.

So hopefully something will get done!!
