1941 Lincoln Wheat Cent / LWC -WWII Trench Art?

JDRMCB Pillar of the Community United States 616 Posts	Posted 11/26/2014 3:34 pm I recently found this coin in a roll. It was crusted up whitish green and oxidized beyond identification, so I broke my cardinal rule and cleaned it just so I could see what it was! Well, it is a 1941-P Wheat penny with what appears to be the shape of an island or country over the head of Lincoln. At first, I thought it was carved into the penny itself, but now I think perhaps it is extra copper that was added somehow. (Maybe a copper bullet fragment?) It is an interesting piece to say the least! Any and all comments, opinions and thoughts will be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff
