Lostwords:
Johnny Mac gold coin is same exact composition and size of superman gold coins...
12 grams 14k gold balance silver at 27mm diameter
More attractive price point-given that there is no licensing fee attached to this design...and with a very low mintage of 1500 I would bet it's to become the first of the quick sell outs for 2015.

Tax exempt would have to be .995 for gold and .999 for silver. As Silveroid said, a 14k Au coin would be taxable.

Isn't 58% gold / 42% silver the RCM standard for its 14k gold commemoratives?

What are the top 3 coins you saw in your opinion? What's the price on the gold coin talked about? Thanks.
I find it interesting there's more Superman coins planned. What could the theme be in 2015? It would be nice if they just stay with these 2 issues. Two years are enough. However, if they mint more superman coins I hope they do packaging like the Avengers set. It's very cool packaging and presentation.

Pocket;
Best of what I saw at this January's releases gathering was;
Commemorative gold 14k priced at 599.95 of John A. MacDonald overlooking an image of a train - the pacific railway facing west on top of a map image of canada...
That was the most appealing to me and that's before my first glass of wine.
Follow up contenders were essentially a variety of cdn flag coins...One gold at 129.+ another one silver and the proof set for 2015 with red painting on the silver dollar...
Most shocking and possibly controversial coin on display was a silver 1 oz coin commemorating two unesco world Heritage Sites - Japan's mount fuji with the cdn rockies depicted on the same obverse side of the coin inverted...priced if I recall at 99.
Not sure the thinking here to put out a coin of two different unesco sites from differing countries on a RCM product...
Yes both sites are referencing majestic mountains but...? What other nexus exist?

The John A McDonald coin sounds intriguing, but so much going on , on such a small surface!! I'd love it on a two Oz coin, a larger canvass to express the idea fully.
I always get the fine silver proof set, for my proof set collection. I like the idea of having a 99.99 silver proof set, even if it's very expensive. I enjoy them thoroughly. I figured the set would be flag related.
Does the flag look very close to the 2005 enamel flag?

Sure it wasn't John A with a wine glass in his hand. I've read he was known for his drinking. As were most of the countries politicians were in those days.

Sounds like it was a classy event. Too bad the prairies are so far away from the action.

Pocket change...
Yes the flag appears very much like the 25 4 25 edition...
The other tiny gold and typical silver coin had the flag too but unpainted which at least on the silver was tricky on the eyes to make out...perhaps due to the ballroom lighting set up...

This thread has been found on the middle of the page, while the release so close. WOW!

Are people so busy with annual holidays routine, that even forgot to be excited from the expectation of the new coins, that RCM despite all is ready to over-flood with them (as in 2014) the market...

This is correct, so that's why I said "routine".
It nice, actually....but where are individualism here?
All as one chasing and celebrating...

Only in these days people feel, that they lack some unnecessary stuff to give as a gift or be gifted?
And probably only in these days the families and relatives need our attention?
