Does anyone know where I can buy world coins by the pound in the GTA area? I know there is a person selling on kijiji for $15 per pound but I am looking for something around $5-$10 per pound. Buying from ebay is okay but the shipping makes it much more expensive.

yes if you lived in Vancouver, or even on VancouverIsland, I am sure there are lots of places you could purchase for cheap in such a big city. Assuming you haven't already searched online...

I was once told to talk to the transit people, they get tons of world coins and set them aside. I was told by this old collector his mother from Britain would buy 2 or 3 bags from BC transit (back in the day) for a few dollars and in them there would be close to 100 pounds, she would then take that back to the UK on her next visit.

I have tried to call them recently but have had zero luck in finding some one who knows anything about this now.

Also I know that Value Village sells bags of foreign coins for a few bucks, but that would be hit/miss.

I have checked online and there don't seem to be any sellers. Brampton Coin Show might be worth checking out. How much does a 1 pound lot go for?

I have looking at Value Village but all I have seen is some jewellery

If you wanted to meet somewhere downtown I am sure I could find 5 pounds to get rid of. On your profile your email is disabled. Send me a message if you are interested.

mindfreak, I used to do the Brampton show a couple of years ago. Have you always had a table there?

This was the first time we have ever taken a table at a show. It sure was fun! It was different being on the other side of the table. The only disadvantage was not being able to shop as much.

The Brampton show is great, and it's even getting better. They had more tables and dealers this time and were able to drop the cost per table. We always have two tables so this doesn't just help us, but helps the buyers too. Less expenses means we can haggle on the price a little more, and bring some of the low-end stuff that everyone likes to dig through and find some treasures.

@ mindfreak, you're the young man that helped Dougie in Niagara? I was set up directly behind you in Brampton. Glad to see you had a good first experience, anytime you guys need anything don't be scared to ask.

I just want to mention, Willard from B&W does an excellent job with this show, lots of space for dealers, extra back tables, lots of lights, extension cords, and amazing chili for lunch! Great for any first time dealers if you can reserve a table.

No, I'm the older guy (mindfreak)that is with the young man. My son has started this business, and I help out were I can. And yes, he did help Dougie out in Niagara.
Willard does a great job at running this show. We will most likely be at the next one in April.
