I was just thinking that I hadn't found one of these in about 100 boxes. Does this qualify as a split die?

Or a Bisecting rim to rim die crack?

So far it is two die cracks. But after a few more strikes it will get a lot bigger.

Under the scope at the right angle I see a single contiguous crack.

The intersecting line area I feel are where the two die cracks met. The die crack on the left side goes beyond the intersection. Note how the area is wider there? So I feel the die had two die cracks and then before your coin was struck another event made the two connect. I would save this one. There might be some interest in it yet. If there is a Cud later on that developed, then you have a piece of the mystery?
I don't see a listing on cud-on-coins.com for this die yet. But maybe the die was retired before this happened, or maybe this one may not have been found yet.

Coop, ahh, I do see what you are talking about now. The crack on the right bisects the crack on the left, which actually extends to the steps. I had already checked cudsoncoins and did't see anything like this one yet. I'll put it in a 2X2 and hold on to it for awhile - thanks for the input here.

If a coin has a die crack, a die clash or die trails, do these conditions add to the value of the coin, particularly MS coins.

Depending on strength or what the coin might link a Cud to. But the premium would be minimal. The stronger, the better. If you had a coin when the die had split or was a Cud, you would be interested in seeing how it all started.
