Do silver coins get verdigris or is that green below the date something else? What would you do with it? 2. Is this the micro O? I've had one before and I keep changing my mind between yes and no. Give the coin a good soak in PURE acetone; that will do away with the green but do NO harm to the coin or its toning. QUESTION #2: I'll have to leave that to the Barber collectors. matthewvincent Pillar of the Community United States 3486 Posts	Posted 12/20/2014 11:40 am A picture = 1000 words: My first impression was 'Yes, a micro.' The 'O' is identical in size to the 'O' on the Barber quarter and it is postulated that the worker in New Orleans grabbed the wrong 'punch.' (Mint marks were added to the die at the branch mint so this is plausible.) There is LESS room on the quarter than on a dime for a mint mark. Strange but true.
