There's no more fingerprints on them so I'm guessing they were fresh. They did come off.

It's not in too-bad condition. But I'm a perfectionist so I can't keep it. :D

Now your problem is that you removed the protective film that is on all proof coins - it's some sort of oily layer that prevents oxidation. I dipped an RCM proof coin in acetone once and then rubbed it gently with a tissue - boy, that made a mess.
But good luck with your auction.
Personally, I wouldn't buy a coin that has been taken out of its capsule. Since your first two pictures are of the coin sans capsule you're basically telling everyone that you handled it. Some buyers don't like that and regardless if you did anything to the coin or not.
Also, try to take a picture with less light reflection that one can actually see the coin surface.

Your good name is far more important than a loss on a single coin. Well done posting that it has been cleaned / scratches...etc.. The coin is what it is, if there are fingerprints and whatnot that is what the coin is now. The loss sucks but let's look at it at the cost of further education in coin collecting. With that in mind thank you for sharing your tale. Perhaps we all can learn from it.

From my point of view a coin that has been removed from it capsule is damaged and pretty much reduced to it bullion value. Rough, but that is why I rarely buy from ebay.
