Hi CLS ! Let us know what leads you to think this is a large over small date. The large over small date that I know of is a proof stike. Yours apears to be a business strike. Give us a closer pic of the area you see as doubled. Welcome to the madness of the search !

Hi and thank u for your kindness. I didn't know there were both business and proof strikes with S coins I apologize for my ignorance. The date is very thick and the 0 seemed to show doubling along with 7 and possibly the tail of the 9. The 0 and 7 shadows I thought fit the small date appearance. I also thought there was doubling in liberty strongest in the B E R slight on the Y. Aldo the U and S in trust. I will try for better images too. Thank u for taking time to help me with this!

1970-S was struck both Business Strike and Proof. Concentrate on the date; the Proof issue that Wexler attributed as a Large Date hubbed over a Small shows best there. This coin is in good enough condition to show it clearly.

Just a normal 1970-S large date.....your mm position does not match that of the DDO you are referring to.

Hi CLS, Welcome to CCF

Your coin you posted is a large date as noted, one of the diagnostics is the '7' being lower than the rest of the date I hope that helps.

I lean "no" for yours as well; I expect to see much clearer doubling on the 7. This will help:
