Excellent suggestion, ratio! I do in fact have a foam spacer that came in an Airtite that is slightly larger than a "standard" silver dollar, so that won;t work for my purposes, but I bet I can track one a couple different sizes that fit into Airtites to accommodate halves and small dollars!

Dang! Ratio just reminded me of something... if I am going to put all 32 of my dollar Ikes into this set, then that means for consistency's sake I am going to need THREE Ike brass bucks (PDS), which will fill up most of the rest of the holes in the "plain" silver Dollar Dansco!

Glad you have a plan! You can always get all three 1972 varieties if you are looking for holes to fill.

Quote: You can always get all three 1972 varieties if you are looking for holes to fill. Ah, Jeez! Ike varieties. Let me get all these coins (which I have in hand now) into the blank album (which is on the way), and we will see where we stand. And get ready for a whole bunch of pictures. Maybe I should get Professor David Eisenhower to sign the album for me!

Don't forget the ike inauguration token. I think its a little smaller than a silver dollar so it'll fit in the album.

Keepcalm,
Thanks for the suggestion. Jbucks also pointed about that there's going to be a silver medal for Ike in his Coin Chronicles set.
I might consider them, but at this point I am sticking with legal tender.

UPDATE!! First of all, thanks for all the suggestions and comments and kind words about this project. Here's where I stand now and some of the decisions I have made: 1. I am going to combine my 32 coin Ike (71-78) dollar set with the 3 brass Ikes coming out in April, along with the 1990 "double-headed" Eisenhower Centennial coin, the 2013 5-star general coin, and the 1991-1995 D-Day dollar. I am also including the 1997 Little Rock desegregation dollar since this is Ike's major domestic action that is on a coin (goes nicely with the D-Day coin, which is obviously the military accomplishment he is most remembered for.... I just wish there was also in Interstate Highway System coin; oh, well 2. I also collect civil rights/African-American stuff, and am using the Little Rock coin to "pivot" to my mini-collection of the CRA 2014 dollar, the Crispus Attucks 1998 dollar, and the 1997 Jackie Robinson dollar. I also have the Booker T Washington Half dollar and the abominably-ugly Carver-Washington half dollar. 3. To display all this, I just today received a "blank" Dansco 7177, which is labelled "Silver dollars" and has 48 large dollar-sized ports. This is more than enough for all these coins. 4. In order to hold the forthcoming brass Ikes, along with the two halves from the 1950s, I am following some advice I got here at CCF and am using those "gaskets" that come in full-sized Airtites as spacers in the "silver dollar-sized" ports. I am putting all this (except obviously the forthcoming brass Ikes) this weekend, and will post pictures, leaving room for the upcoming coins. Thanks once again to everyone who offered suggestions, kind words, and support. Kevin.

UPDATE: I now have everything in a generic Dansco silver dollar album. However I have not figured out how to nicely place the 2015 Ike P, D, and S brass dollars in the holes meant for full-sized silver dollars. I could get them in there easily using flips, but that looks cheesy. Probably going to buy some airtites just for those little foam "gaskets" to use as spacers to adapt the Morgan/Peace/70s Ike holes down to the small dollar size.
Sheesh! Now I'm gonna have to get one of those reverse proof Ike presidentials when they come out in December (actually, you have to buy the whole C&C set, which is fine by me because those medals have been looking pretty good lately).
Of course at this point the C&Cs are limited to 17,000 sets, and I have every other coin now for this set (see above) including the Ike 201 dollars.
If I can't get the RP I am going to be ticked off. I bet Jbucks is thinking the same thing.
Kevin.

Kevin, I'd actually be interested in knowing what coins you have/are after for your Civil Rights themed collection.

Don't know how I've managed to miss this thread but I think it's a terrific idea. I like Ike. You mentioned you wanted to stick with "legal tender" if you meant legal tender from only the United States then enough said but if you would consider other coins that are Eisenhower themed I wanted to point out the Marshall Islands $5 coin. I have it in the tail end of my Eisenhower Dansco along with the Eisenhower Centennial. Also, did I miss seeing the 2002 West Point on your list? Again, not trying to muddy up your original intent here. I'm really looking forward to seeing your display.

Thank you for the update. I look forward to seeing how the whole thing looks when complete. Quote: If I can't get the RP I am going to be ticked off. I bet Jbucks is thinking the same thing. The reverse proof is nice, but it is just a bonus. It am more worried about the set itself. I have to have it!

Quote: The good thing about a Washington themed set is that since 1999 the obverse of the quarter has not changed... Not even the date! Of course the date on the obverse has not changed, there isn't one.
