I went back and looked at the photo you first posted and then back to the one after you dipped it. Amazing difference. Now you know not to buy from that person again. As to feed back for that person, I'd say just forget it. Way to many people have others send in fanstastic feedbacks. Not worth your time.

I have seen this seller many times on ebay. Have purchased from and sold to also. A great person and nice to deal with, BUT, there is some photo manipulation going on. None of the coins I have purchased have looked the same " in hand " as they do in the ebay pictures. Just as an experiment, I have taken both before and after pics of a cpl of this sellers coins and put a cpl photoshop wizards on it to try and duplicate the process used. Will update when I get some answers.

Oh yeah...I actually found this thread while reading this sellers ebay feedback, left by the original thread starter I would assume. THANK YOU, this looks like a great site.

It's more than Photoshop, this coin was colored with something. If the color looks unnatural, it probably is on ebay.

I sent this link to the engineering dept at work, the cadcam guru blew my mind. He took your after pic and took off all the nicks and gouges ( that are not in the before pic ) in about 3 clicks.
Will work on it somemore, lunchtime is over.

That color looks way off. Got better pictures?

I've put up larger pictures. Have a look of the ebay pic versus my picture: What the coin REALLY looks like:

Is that lint or something besides scratches and dings on the forehead and in front of the face?

Yes, in the 2x2 the coin looked pretty much the same as the picture. However, the color was just not right and I've seen a few Lincoln's in my time. LOL

No lint, I'm real meticulous when I photograph and handle coins.
