I keep trying to think of the coins I like in my collections .. I hate missing posting any that fall into my favorites category. I think some might notice Muddler and I have similar coins. 1997 1-peso coin from the Dominican Republic:  The gentleman shown on the obverse, described as 'Father of the Country', is Juan Pablo Duarte y Diez (1813-1876), who was the driving force and main financial backer of the war for independence from Haiti. Edited by NumisRob

1997 Hong Kong $2 One year type. The space normally containing the numeral 2 and the date, is filled with the He He brothers, symbolizing harmony.  |

 Jordan, half dinar, 1997 I will always love this coin because it's a non-round bimetallic. It's amazing how these haven't caught on elsewhere - they must be very difficult to counterfeit. |

 Today's date for coins is 1997. Perhaps you were confused by the prominent display of the Olympic year of 2000 on my previous coin. |
