I'm not sure I understand what you mean by removed mount. You mean like some sort of coin holder or use in jewelry ...?
If anything of the sort was done to this coin it was done a long time ago, since it was in my familly at least from the end of World war I. Before that ... Who knows?

I'm surprised at how many conder tokens have been posted today (even though I posted one of them myself). I wonder if 1794 is the peak year for conder tokens?

Charles Pye (engraver) stated that the only genuine pieces were those issued by the Birmingham Mining and Copper Company, and dated 1791 and 1792. These are included under the Nos 77 to 102, and also 113. The counterfeit pieces are usually of inferior workmanship, struck on flans with a variety of edges, and are much lighter in weight. The majority of these are , however, much rarer than the genuine pieces.
