1793 ecu of 6 Livres, France, Bordeaux mint (K mintmark). Known as a Constitutional ecu, this type was minted during the French Revolution for the short lived constitutional monarchy of 1791-1792, when Louis XVI was forced to share power with the National Assembly. By 1793, however, the French Republic had been established; Louis XVI was executed in January. This one is from the Eric P. Newman Collection.

Ah yes, I like them too. Comes from a small collection. The previous owner wanted them to stay together. So they will. And perhaps the number can be enlarged. The Original determination was a little bit different because the previous owner was not an internet expert. Luckely I found the Dalton&Hamer catalog on-line.
