Great Britain 1887 Jubilee Head sixpences. The UK made the same mistake as the USA did 4 years earlier with the racketeer nickel. The new sixpence had no denomination marked on it, so people started gilding them and using them as half-sovereigns! The first design was withdrawn and a new design issued later in the year:

I have today two coins from the Philadelphia mint which will kick off a period of a 3 or 4 decades over which I'll have a couple coins every couple of days.

1st: 1886 Morgan. Note: This is the first of 9 coins which were inherited by my family, but will eventually be mine. Jbuck said I could post them. I will identify them as such. This coin looks a lot better in hand, it's a good strike with lustrous fields and well-formed devices.

This 1886 dime is from my own collection, residing in my 7070. My grandfather found it in circulation back in the 70s or 80s. All that use really took its toll.
