I've only treated one bent coin to my satisfaction, and it was still a cull 5F Napoleon when I was done. I placed it between 2 oak boards and tightened it in a heavy dury vise. When I was done it was flat but the high point of the bend had undergone heavier uneven wear than the rest of the coin.

PICS!

Sorry, I'm in the middle of a move and it's deep in a box. There's a link to the auction in the 1st post.

BTW, I did contact the seller. He apologized and said he never had it out of the flip from when he bought it. I always take mine out of the flip when I photograph them, so hopefully I'd never run into a similar situation when selling.

Whoa, that's amazing you were able to straighten it. I have a large cent with a slight bend that I can't wait to experiment on. I like the vise idea.

I am late to the dance...., but I checked the link to the auction for the bent coin you won.
There are 3 photos, is it me or did anyone notice the middle photo shows a "S" mint mark clearly on the 1893 Morgan?

Looks like the seller had 2 reverse photos up, 2 different coin reverses.

I think the seller may have overdone his meds when he made the listing. He didn't notice until bids were in already and added a note.
