This one is in a PCGS slab, I think from the late '90s. Grading to come, but what do you think? Am I right that this is the "Upright 5" which is worth a bit more?

XF40 to 45 and it does appear to be an upright "5"

Upright 5. Although it may technically merit AU50, I have to opine XF45 for the rather industrial look. It's a scarce variety hampered by a small collector base. Heritage has 86 of these - 1856-P in XF - and only 14 are Upright 5, 136 out of 706 in all grades.

Guess I never posted the grade on this one? It's graded AU53 by PCGS. I'll try to take some better pics. If I were to ebay this one, is it worth mentioning the older style PCGS slab, or does that not really have any collectibility in this case?

Interesting...I just noticed that when I lookup the certification number at PCGS is says "Slanted 5" for the Variety, but the coin is clearly an Upright. Strange!

I have looked at a few of these online lately, and I think the PCGS grade is spot on. You could mention the older slab, it may help you a tiny bit, but don't expect much of a premium...

I agree with AU on this one, and if it's in an older green holder (OGH)
then put it in the title, it seems to attract buyers..
