Just an update, these are still hanging around. 35 watching & 12 inquiries, not sure if there've been any offers.

I'm just can't bring myself to see any logic in spending $100,000.00 for two mislabeled pieces of paper encapsulated in plastic.

Just updating - almost four months have passed and this listing persists without any revision to the asking price. I wonder how many other "insulting" offers have been rejected by now....

Maybe he has a nervous tick and accidentally typed $100,000.00 when he meant to type $100.00....

You know there probably is some good collector premium here, but he's taken greed to the level of two extra zeroes.

Yeah, I'm sure slab collectors would love this kind of thing. I don't really collect slabs, so I don't have a frame of reference.

But yeah, maybe he has a bone to pick with NGC over some grading returns?... It is a great way to get publicity I guess. Who knows.

I appreciate that you can't underestimate the intelligence of some E-bay buyers, and I am all for free enterprise, but I think E-bay needs some sort of review board to deal with such obviously outlandish lots.

He's rejected both of my offers $125 and $126.

The only thing that is remotely interesting about the mechanical error is having both halves. If you had just one you wouldn't know if it was entered wrong from the start or a swap.

Nothing whatsoever illegal about asking ridiculous prices. It's part and parcel of capitalism.

If we step back and consider what folks have paid for examples of so-called "modern art", these slabs, containing legal tender that's silver to boot, seem like a bargain at 100k ....

I concur with Scropper that the seller is more about making a point about TPGer's than trying to peddle these dollars. At various shows, I've often seen dealers display slabbing errors to make just that point. One has to then consider how likely it is that any TPG service can err in assigning a given numerical grade. The seller's asking price makes it quite likely that many collectors will see his wares and consequently think twice about the credibility of TPGer's.
