Ever notice that clash marks are raised on coins? I have several tokens with clashes and some Sols of Peru and they are all raised marks. At least they look raised to me. But in order for them to be raised on the coin, or token, they must be mirror and incuse on the die. However the working dies themselves are mirror and incuse. So when they strike each other they should each be raise images on the other die which should then show up on the coin as mirrored and incuse.

Let's hear it for the "new" Monticello!

"I`m Henry the eighth I am
Henry the eighth I am, I am
I got married to the widow next door
She`s been married seven times before
And every one was a Henry"
"Henry!"
"She wouldn`t have a Willy or a Sam"
"No Sams!"
"I`m her eighth old man, I`m Henry
Henry the eighth I am"

***SECOND VERSE SAME AS THE FIRST***

I really don't know why this happens, but will look for an answer. Here is a pretty good site that discusses many forms of errors.

The images in the link looked raised as well.
There's something fishy going on here with
clashed dies.
